Recipes for Success

Culinary, Culture, and Change

In partnership with Open Space Education. Cooking demonstrations by Fancy & Spicy, chefs who teach recipes but also the cultural background of the foods.

Participants will plant seedlings and nurture them. Participants will also create ceramic planters for themselves and community members while becoming versed in resourcefulness, food justice, and cultivation of plants. Participants will develop an appreciation for nature from diverse perspectives. In this program, participants will learn essential principles and practical step-by-step techniques for preparing customized meals and getting started in a career as a professional personal chef or just learn how to perfect home-cooked meals. By providing young women expert learning early access, we believe that with training, goals, and passion participants will increase representation for Black girls and women in culinary arts.

Cost
$75 registration fee. Scholarships are available upon request/approval for non-RPS students. As of November 2022, all scholarships have been disbursed for the semester.
