Each summer, rising 1st-8th-grade girls will explore our Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) Lab. As they are immersed in these subjects, they begin to understand that girls, too, can be pioneers in these areas. Girls will spend each day learning about programming, sewing, robotics, and more.
In addition to our STEAM-focused programming, girls will enjoy camp activities and experience weekly themes focused on areas such as visual arts, health and wellness, financial literacy, green living, character development, and leadership skills. Along the way, they’ll build new friendships and create lasting memories!

GFAC strongly believes that no girl should be denied an opportunity to attend a program due to lack of funds; however, we ask every effort be made by each applicant and their family to “earn their own way.” Partial scholarships on a sliding-scale or full scholarships are available. If you are approved for a partial scholarship, you will receive a payment plan upon approval with weekly payments. If you are approved for a full scholarship, you are only responsible for additional fees that may apply. All applicants, regardless of scholarship status, are required to pay the non-refundable registration fee.
Scholarship applications are due by June 19th, 2020 and announcements are made on June 22nd, 2020. Recipients have 2 days to accept the scholarship. All remaining fee (if any) must be paid in full by June 30th, 2020.
Benefits Of Camp Diva Leadership Academy
- Safe, affordable and convenient for working families
- Girls lead their own exploration of STEAM programs
- Girls participate in activities that develop their social-emotional skills
- Girls improve sisterhood through sustained engagement with female peers and mentors
- Simply put, girls learn that they have enormous potential and power as girls growing into womanhood
A lot of people get placed in a box and are not encouraged to dream—be a nurse, accountant, teacher—but you really want to support our girls to dream beyond all things, whether it be in the arts, or something that isn’t a traditional job for women, especially black women.
– Brandie Martin, Parent
Once we get into the program, we don’t really greet each other by names; we call each other sisters in Camp Diva because we are a sisterhood. Being an alumna is kind of like being a big sister. It’s like a family.
– Yasmeen Johnson, Alumna
Like all relationships, friendships take effort, but the time and energy I put into new friendship up for camp, participating and maintaining friendships has benefited me long after your summer is over.
