Continued Support for GAP Alumnae

We Are Growing, and So Are Your Opportunities

Launching 2026: Continued Support for GAP Alumnae

The workforce is changing, DEIA pipelines are shrinking, and early career opportunities are becoming harder to access, especially for Black girls and young women who already face systemic barriers. That is why Girls For A Change is expanding our support. Beginning in 2026, GAP alumnae who are continuing their education at a two-year or four-year college or university can apply for summer internship placements designed to keep them skilled, connected, and supported as they move into adulthood. Our GAP alumnae will be eligible for this support up until they are 24 years old.

Your journey with GAP does not end at graduation. Our commitment to preparing you for the future of work continues. Alumnae will have access to strengthened certification pathways, expanded Immersion Lab opportunities, more paid internships, new partnerships across emerging industries, and ongoing mentorship and career matching. Our goal is simple: to make sure Black girls and young women do not get left behind as the job market shifts, and that you have the resume, experience, and network needed to remain competitive.

This alumnae program is our response to the demands of the modern workforce and our commitment to ensuring that GAP participants remain equipped, supported, and ready for every opportunity ahead.

Beginning in 2026, GAP Alumnae Will Have Access To:

  • Strengthened certification pathways
  • Expanded Immersion Lab opportunities
  • More paid work and internship placements
  • New partnerships across emerging career fields
  • Ongoing mentorship, career matching, and networking

Every GAP alumna remains part of our sisterhood and our leadership pipeline. As you transition into college, we remain by your side. Your growth strengthens our community and opens doors for the next generation of Black girls who will follow your lead.

What Happens After You Apply

Once you submit your application:

  • Interview: You will be invited to discuss your interests, goals, and availability.

  • Placement Match: We will connect you with a partner organization aligned with your field or career interests.

  • One Placement Per Summer: Each alumna receives one high-quality placement per year to ensure a meaningful and supported experience.

This process ensures that alumnae stay trained, connected, and supported — our ongoing investment in preparing Black girls and young women for the future of work.
