Program leaders and Nappy Nerd will coordinate together to determine the best day, time, and location to facilitate each session smoothly and with intention.

Please note: Participants must be actively enrolled in a Girls For A Change program to fully participate in this opportunity.

Our Project Plan

As part of our continued commitment to creativity, storytelling, and joyful learning, Nappy Nerd will visit all Girls For A Change programs prior to the Black Girl Showcase and will also join us during a program outing.

Her visit is designed to bring a creative boost during the planning and development phase of our projects. Through art, play, and storytelling, Nappy Nerd will help girls pause, breathe, and reconnect—adding moments of imagination and fun while they are deeply engaged in learning, problem-solving, and preparing for the Black Girl Showcase.

This experience will introduce something new and refreshing to break up structured content, spark curiosity, and invite creative risk-taking. Girls will explore art in a way that supports expression, collaboration, and joy while strengthening their confidence and enthusiasm for the work ahead.

Each participant will leave with:

  1. A hands-on art project they helped create
  2. A story connected to their artwork
  3. A renewed sense of confidence, excitement, and pride in their creativity
