The event is free to the community, but an RSVP is suggested. Vendors will be on-site and will accept cash, card, and Cash App for purchases.

About Market Day
At Girls For A Change, we believe the best way to inspire confidence and leadership in Black girls is to give them real-world experiences where they can shine. That’s why Market Day is such a special part of our Camp Diva Leadership Academy.
Each summer, our center is transformed into a vibrant marketplace—complete with handmade products, interactive booths, and live entertainment. The community is invited to shop and support our young entrepreneurs as they learn the ins and outs of running a booth at a market.
More Than Shopping
But it’s more than just shopping: it’s a celebration of creativity, entrepreneurship, and community. These brilliant middle school girls have spent their summer learning to design, produce, and market their own products—from jewelry and body scrubs to handmade art and treats. With guidance from mentors and the support of their peers, they’ve built brands, practiced pitches, and learned what it takes to turn an idea into a source of income.
Market Day teaches valuable life skills, including:
- Financial literacy and budgeting
- Sales and customer service
- Public speaking and presentation
- Community engagement and confidence-building
