Facilitate a Teen Daughters Screening and Discussion

If you would like your school or youth program to screen Daughters and host a follow-up conversation, this guide will help you get started. You must first request a screening through our website and then use the discussion guide to plan your event and lead your conversation.

If you are interested in facilitating your own discussion—or would like Girls For A Change to support with facilitation—an application is still required. Once submitted, we will guide you through the next steps.

This guide was created to help you use the film as a tool for dialogue, healing, and change. It provides a thoughtful and supportive structure for teens to engage with the film’s themes. Inside, you’ll find opening questions to ground the group, warm-up activities to build comfort and connection, and film-specific reflection prompts to help teens process what they witnessed. The guide explores leadership, identity, fatherhood, healing, and justice, encouraging deeper conversations rooted in care and cultural respect.

Small-group prompts create space for peer-to-peer sharing, while closing circle questions help participants reflect and reconnect emotionally. A facilitator script and safety and wellness guidelines ensure that discussions are held with consistency, care, and cultural sensitivity, centering the voices and well-being of every teen.
