What makes STEAM programs successful? Creativity and the mentors who encourage girls to reach for the stars! As champions of Black girls, we all we got. So let’s collectively come together to solve the STEAM gap and come up with actionable solutions that we can implement right now.

Girl-centered programs, schools, nonprofits, clubs, parents, and caregivers all play a critical role in the daily lives of girls and young women. Yet, no single entity or person can holistically meet the needs of every girl, nor can they solve the larger systems of inequalities. It really does take a village. Let’s come together with Virginia area schools to uncover gaps and opportunities across our respective resources and networks to provide STEAM opportunities to our girls.

We will hear from a collective of people who occupy a variety of spaces in STEAM and go on a fun STEAM WALK to grab materials, network, and take back resources and connections to your school or community. We also have door prizes to give away!
